PRODUCT AND FEATURE LAUNCHES

The MCP rollout is now live

Our full MCP rollout went live in August. Moonlit Connect now puts the Moonlit Data Layer inside the AI assistant you already work in, whether that is Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT or any other MCP-compatible client. Ask a legal question where you already work and the answer comes back from official sources with a link on every citation. No new tool and no new login required.

A new look for the site

Our homepage has a new look and the navigation is where you will notice it first. Products now opens a menu that names each product and what it does: MCP Server, Moonlit Platform, Moonlit Connect and Horizon Scanning. Resources does the same for Documentation, News, Academy and About. Coverage, Customers and Pricing sit alongside them, with Log in and Book a demo on the right. Fewer clicks to find the thing you came for and a clearer picture of what Moonlit offers.

TIPS AND HOW-TO'S

How to connect Moonlit to your AI assistant

Setup takes just one URL and one sign-in. Copy https://mcp.moonlit.ai/mcp, add it as a custom connector or remote MCP server in your AI app, then sign in with your Moonlit account and approve access. No API key needed.

The only thing that varies by client is where you enter the setting: Copilot uses an agent built in Copilot Studio, while Claude, ChatGPT, Le Chat and Perplexity each let you paste the URL directly into their connector settings.

Editors and command-line tools are just as simple: one command or four lines of JSON. To confirm everything's working, ask a question that only live data could answer, and look for results with dated documents, jurisdictions and a source link on every claim. For a smooth connection, double-check the URL ends in /mcp.

New Data Sources - August

Moonlit BBQ

August gave us plenty to be proud of, but this month was also about what we cherished. We brought the Moonlit family and friends together for a BBQ, and it turned into a night of laughter, good food, drinks and real conversation.

More than anything it was a chance to pause and appreciate how far Moonlit has come, and everyone who has backed the hard work along the way. A few light hearted moments rounded out the night.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

Pim Maagdenberg wins this month’s iPad

Another month, another iPad heading to a Moonlit contributor. Pim Maagdenberg is the latest winner of the Moonlit iPad giveaway, selected on the strength of the data enrichments he contributed to the platform.

At Moonlit we value the professional expertise our users bring to the system. Enrichments, document nicknames, alternative titles, improved metadata, make the platform better for every legal professional who uses it next. That is why we keep rewarding it.

The round is still open, and every contribution counts as an entry. How to enter:

  • Log into the Moonlit platform.

  • Open any document and look for the suggestion button.
