Quantoz Payments grounds its cross-border legal research in Moonlit through Claude

Quantoz Payments is a Dutch electronic money institution, supervised by De Nederlandsche Bank, that runs a blockchain-based payment infrastructure. The company issues MiCA-compliant stablecoins, including the euro-backed EURQ and dollar-backed USDQ, fully reserved with European banks and built for instant settlement on public blockchains. Running a regulated e-money business on-chain puts its legal team where several bodies of financial law meet at once, and the memos that come out of that work are only as good as the sources behind them.

Almost every legal question at Quantoz touches more than one regime. MiCA, PSD2, EMD2 and the Dutch Financial Supervision Act all bear on the same product, so looking up case law and regulatory interpretation is where most of the work happens. Doing it by hand means reading long regulatory texts across multiple frameworks and getting every citation exactly right. Lennard van Mierlo, who handles legal at Quantoz Payments, does that research with Moonlit through Claude. He formulates a question, and Claude, connected to the Moonlit Data Layer over the MCP server, works out how to break it down, finds the relevant sources and reads the full documents rather than summaries. The data layer underneath is 17M+ documents across 30 European jurisdictions, connected by a knowledge graph of 35M+ references and traceable to the official source, so every citation can be clicked through and verified.
